Tryout Info Group A: All returning players + any Junior or Senior trying out that was NOT on a roster last season at Harrison HS
Group B: All Freshman and Sophomores NOT on a roster last season at Harrison HS
1st day of Tryouts is Jan. 9th Each Day Group A will be 3:40, Group B will be 6:00 (unless notified differently)
What you will need: Hat / glove / spikes / clean shoes for indoor / Jacket / own water bottle / any personal gear you need to play ball in or with. MUST: have long sleeves on. Sleeves MUST cover the elbow. Pants can be baseball pants (preferred) or athletic / sweat pants. Adapt to the temperatures. Hoodies and toboggins/skull caps are ok.
Below is a basic outline of the tryout process: Subject to change at coaching staff discretion.
Day 1 / January 9 PRO DAY - gather basic information such as: Velo, 60 yd. dash times / fielding accuracy / bat exit velo / video swings
Day 2 / January 10 Practice Day Positions splits. INF on Defense / OF&C on Offense - switch Optional bullpens indoors
Day 3&4 / January 11-12 Intersquad - broken up into 2 teams Fungo period before we begin
Day 5 / January 13 Will make a cut this night
Fungo period followed by a machine pitch scrimmage
Day 6&7 / January 16 Move some guys from GA to GB Workout / Practice Day
Day 8 / January 17&18 FINAL CUT night
Intersquad days Tarp on / will move day 2 of this in doors and do live bullpens if needed.
Teams picked and move in day is January 19th. Team Meeting in the Attendance Building Cafeteria 3:35. Parent Meeting in the Main Cafeteria Monday January 23, 7:00
